How Much Does an Indoor Sauna Cost?

There’s been a rise in the popularity of having a personal sauna at home in Australia. But, at what expense? How much does an indoor sauna cost?

Whether you're dreaming of those cosy, steam-filled rooms for your post-workout ritual or just seeking a way to relax and unwind, we’ll share everything you need to know including price

What's This Sauna Buzz All About?

Simply put, a sauna is your own private escape – a little haven where heat does wonders for your body and mind. It's like stepping into a warm hug, except this hug can help you relax, cleanse, and improve your sleep.

And yes, saunas come in all shapes and sizes, each with its unique charm. Each type has its own way of saying, 'Welcome, relax, and enjoy' fitting perfectly into Australian homes by the beach, bush, or a suburb in a city.

So, how much does a sauna cost? Let’s find out!

Average Price Range of Indoor Saunas

When it comes to adding one of these beauties to your home, the first question that pops up is usually about cost. 'How much is this going to set me back?'. Well, the answer isn't as straightforward as we might like because it depends on what you're after.

    Let’s break it down.

A Range as Wide as the Outback

For a basic setup, you're looking at a starting point that could be as friendly as a few thousand dollars.

On the other end of the spectrum, for those who appreciate well crafted luxury and features, the sky (or your budget) is the limit.

At Heavenly Saunas, quality is at the heart of our business.

Our indoor saunas are crafted in the USA by experts with more than 40 years of sauna construction expertise. Made from beautiful Western Red Cedar, known for its natural beauty as well as its resistance to moisture, decay, and insect damage (yep termites don't like it!!), these saunas are a perfect addition to any indoor space.

Here’s what we have on offer:

Factors Influencing the Price of an Indoor Sauna

When it comes to picking the perfect sauna for your home, it's not just about choosing the one that looks the cosiest. Several factors play a significant role in determining how much you'll need to fork out.

Let's take a closer look at what influences the price tag.

          Size

As indicated in the products listed above, the bigger the sauna, the higher the price. It's like comparing a cosy studio apartment to a sprawling 4-bedroom house. The difference in cost is clear.

A compact model designed for a couple might be gentle on your bank account, while a larger one that can host a small party requires a heftier investment.

Interestingly, our clients who initially think they want a smaller sauna, most times, purchase a larger model.

          Material

The type of materials used can significantly sway the cost. Wood type, for instance, plays a massive part.

We intentionally choose to offer products made from high grade Western Red Cedar. Not only is this famous for its earthy scent, adding a pleasant fragrance, it’s also known for its exceptional durability.

Hemlock constructed saunas on the other hand offer a more budget-friendly option. This is due to the timber not being as decay resistant and also the low heat conductivity meaning they take longer to heat up.

          Heater

Traditional saunas can come with either a wood-fired or electric heater, while infrared models use special lamps. Heavenly Saunas offer the traditional sauna experience for their indoor saunas range so they are packaged with an electric heater and sauna stones,  however we have had clients prefer wood-fired which requires special fluting similar to a coonara fireplace.

The type you choose not only affects the purchase price but also how much you'll spend on running costs down the track.

          Features

All our indoor saunas come with a Harvia Sauna Heater (Made in Finland) Sauna Bucket and Ladle; German made Thermostat/Hygrometer; Finnish Sauna Stones; and an LED Dimming Sauna Light.

Are Home Saunas Expensive to Run?

The thought of your electricity bill skyrocketing might make you think twice about hitting that 'on' switch on your sauna. But here's some good news - running a sauna may not be as costly as you think.

In fact, with advancements in technology and energy efficiency, operating a sauna can be quite reasonable, especially when compared to other household luxuries.

But if you really want to keep those energy costs down, here are a few tips:

            • Proper insulation keeps the heat in, meaning less energy is needed to maintain the temperature.

            • Heating your sauna during off-peak electricity times can save you a bundle.

            • Regular maintenance ensures everything runs efficiently, preventing unnecessary energy consumption.

Finding the Right Sauna For You

When it comes to choosing an indoor sauna, it's not just about how much you spend but what you get for your money. A good deal isn't just a low price; it's about quality, durability, and the peace of mind that comes with excellent after-sales support.

Would you rather save a bit now but face headaches later, or invest in something that will offer relaxation and health benefits for years to come?

This is where choosing a reputable supplier like Heavenly Saunas comes into play. We don’t just sell you a sauna; we provide a comprehensive package including first class customer service, warranty support (should you need it and lets face it - sometimes you do), and reliable after-sales care.

Choosing us means opting for a stress-free experience, knowing that your satisfaction is our priority.

Here’s What The Team say about the Cost of an Indoor Sauna

We know that when considering a sauna it actually seems like a nice to have or I always wanted one or I wish….. but really we believe saunas are essential on so many levels.

Traditional saunas are proven to have significant health benefits - they create social connection with those who are most important, your family and friends. Plus, they are good fun!

Yes, it’s a cost but we have yet to have one client tell us they have regretted buying the sauna.

On the contrary, we always hear how surprised they are with how much they do use it and it has been the best investment they have ever made.
